Dr. Frank Burtnett is an experienced counselor and consultant, one capable
of providing direct counseling assistance to students in transition, parents engaged in facilitating the transitions
of their children and people of any age who are reflecting on their career and life experiences and considering change.
His experiences in college and career counseling, coupled with his extensive knowledge of the processes and protocols that
people will face as they navigate these important life transitions place him in the top echelon of college and career counselors.
He earned the Doctor of Education and Master of Arts degrees in counselng from George Washington
University in Washington, DC. Earlier he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Shippensburg University (PA).
He holds the National Certified Counselor (NCC) and National Certified Career Counselor (NCCC) credentials of the National
Board for Certified Counselors, Inc. (NBCC) and is a Registered Counselor (RC2478) in the state of Maine.
Individual Counseling
Persons interested
in pursuing individual counseling with respect to career or college issues are encouraged to begin the process with an email
to Dr. Burtnett that offers a personal assessment of where he or she is in their personal growth and development,
including the identification of any challenges or questions the individual hopes to see addressed or answered in the counseling
relationship. Dr. Burtnett will follow this initial contact with a short
telephone discussion to address desired outcomes and the conditions that will shape the counseling relationship.
He will determine what assessment tools he will need to administer and how the information derived from these instruments
will impact the counseling process. Finally, he will present a counseling plan which outlines expectations and tasks that
both he and the client will agree to perform.

Organization, Agency and/or Private Sector Consultation
Dr.
Burtnett approaches consultation with institutions, organizations, agencies and the private sector in much the same way. Once
he has been able to grasp the needs of the prospective client, he will outline a consultation plan for consideration. His
experiences in helping a variety of entities interested in planning, developing, implementing, evaluating and sustaining counseling
and human resource management programs are extensive, and he has the capability to working with knowledgeable and competent
professionals in his vast professional network in the responding to a client's consulting needs. He has worked directly in
the development of service oriented initiatives for schools, colleges, youth and adult serving organizations, professional
associations and others.
Fees and Service Agreement
Fees for individual counseling and consultation will be based on the scope of service
required and presented as a part of a service agreement prior to the onset of either the counseling or consulting
